Wasatch Education Foundation

About WEF

In July of 2019, the Wasatch Education Foundation (WEF) was re-established as an arm of the Wasatch County School District to ensure the Foundation's activities and efforts best aligned with the Mission and Vision of the District.

At that time, WEF’s Board of Directors established a new and more relevant Mission, which is:

Engaging community and corporate partners in providing supplemental resources to the Wasatch County School District to improve educational outcomes

Some of the activities of the Foundation include:

  • Wasatch High School scholarship program, funding and awarding more than $500,000 in scholarships to 220+ Wasatch High School graduating seniors annually, including 28 first-generation students in the 2020, 2021 & 2022 classes who've received the "We Rise" four-year scholarship that includes a mentor and support throughout their post-secondary educational journey
  • After-school academic support for middle-school students to bring them to grade-level by assisting with mastery and assignment completion
  • "Distinguished Educator" program - a $160,000 annual donor-directed initiative to provide 14 teachers (one from each elementary school and the online Wasatch Learning Academy, two from each middle school, and four from Wasatch High School) with $11,500 each
  • Administrative and fiscal assistance for the Wasatch Parent Network (WPN), which was brought in under the WEF umbrella in 2020 to help with their financial stabilization and growth
  • Student food programs, including backpacks at the elementary and middle schools, and a Food Pantry at Wasatch High School
  • No-cost fundraising platform for WPN, athletics, and activities

As we grow, we’re excited to help support additional programs that contribute to student achievement and support our staff, including the Family Education Center, the Gary and Nadine Turner Fund for New Teachers, and Emergence Art Contest, among others.
