For WHS seniors, access to continuing education allows them a brighter future.
With the help of generous donors, last year we provided scholarships totaling nearly $200,000 and were able to help more than 200 graduating WHS seniors attend college. Some were the first in their family to have the opportunity to do so. So many students were helped because people like you donated to the scholarship program.
Last year, Leidy Ramirez received a $1000 scholarship. She wrote, “Thanks to your generous support I am the first in my family to attend college. Growing up in a less privileged home has not only offered financial academic challenges, but has also helped me realize the value of a college education. I will begin my undergraduate career as a freshman at Utah Valley University and can already report that my academics are off to a good start. My educational pursuits would not be possible without your generous support. You have lightened my financial burden which allows me to focus more on the most important aspect of school, which is learning. I hope to one day help students achieve their goals as you have helped me.”
As you can see, these scholarships not only help financially, but also show our students that we believe they can be successful in life. We kindly ask you to support our scholarship program this year by funding a scholarship for a Class of 2020 graduating WHS senior.
The scholarship ceremony will be May 19, 2020, at 7 p.m. in the Wasatch High School auditorium. We hope you will join us, so we can thank you during our celebration.
